Higgsfield Academy is Higgsfield's free video school. Its beginner course, AI Creation First Steps, runs 1 hour 42 minutes with PDF guides and a certificate. Watching costs nothing, but the homework that unlocks the later lessons needs a paid plan and spends your credits. Here is what's inside, who it suits, and where our free guides cover the same ground.

What is Higgsfield Academy?
Higgsfield Academy is a set of video courses inside higgsfield.ai that teach you to make AI images and video with Higgsfield's tools. The blog post calls it "the learning hub within Higgsfield", and the Academy page pitches it as "Learn AI video from zero."
There are two parts:
AI Creation First Steps, the beginner course "created by Higgsfield Studio", with homework and a certificate.
A catalog of shorter tutorials on filmmaking, social content, ads and AI agents. The catalog page listed 17 entries on 27 October: the beginner course and 16 tutorials.
Higgsfield announced the beginner course on X on 16 October 2026 as "The only AI course you need to start creating in 2026", and the changelog entry is dated the same day. The Academy page also says "Join 100,000+ creators learning on Higgsfield"; that is Higgsfield's own figure.
Higgsfield Academy, by date
Jul 14, 2026
Academy launches with two interactive Cinema Studio courses, free generations built into each course, quizzes and a certificate.
Aug 10, 2026
Academy is redesigned as video lessons. The old courses are retired, and completion no longer earns a certificate.
Oct 16, 2026
AI Creation First Steps arrives, with homework that uses your credits and a certificate again.
Oct 25, 2026
Higgsfield's blog publishes its Academy guide on lessons, homework and the certificate.
The dates come from Higgsfield's changelog. One change matters if you read older guides: in July, "free generations are built into every course, so your own credits aren't spent." That is no longer how the beginner course works.
Is Higgsfield Academy free?
Watching is free; doing the course properly isn't. The Academy FAQ answers it directly: "Yes. You can watch all the lessons for free. To complete the required homework and unlock later lessons, you'll need an active Higgsfield subscription and credits." The course page lists "Price Free" and "Certificate Yes ยท free."
Two details from the FAQ and the blog:
Homework spends credits. "Generating images and videos uses credits. The cost depends on the model and settings you choose." Higgsfield publishes no total cost for the homework.
The Academy page oversells it a little. It says "Everything you need is inside. Nothing to buy." Higgsfield's own FAQ on the same page says the homework needs a subscription.
Two of the lesson tasks run through Supercomputer. Higgsfield's MCP help article says anything generated through "MCP, CLI, Canvas, Supercomputer, or other automated tools deducts credits at standard rates," so Unlimited won't cover those. Our credits guide explains how credits are spent.
What's inside AI Creation First Steps?
An introduction and seven lessons, with video, a PDF guide for each lesson and practice tasks. The blog lists them; the course page, the blog and the changelog all give 1 hour 42 minutes in total.

How do the homework and lesson unlocking work?
You make the assignments in Higgsfield, submit them under the lesson, and the later lessons open. Homework "isn't graded"; it only unlocks lessons. The blog lists the first three tasks:
Lesson 1: three videos, one from a simple prompt, one through Supercomputer and one with a preset. The preset video uses your own photo.
Lesson 2: a 15-second video from your own idea, made through Supercomputer.
Lesson 3: three campaign images and one vertical video ad for a product, with the real product photo as the reference.
The rules: "Generations from the last three days qualify, and each generation can be submitted only once." The introduction and lessons 1 to 3 are open from the start. The first two tasks "count as additional practice", and "submitting the lesson 3 assignment opens lesson 4." In plain terms, the lesson 3 product ad is the first task you must pay credits for: lesson 4 stays locked until you submit it, and the blog says lessons 4 to 7 open "as the required assignments are completed." Higgsfield doesn't list the tasks after lesson 3.
What do you get for finishing?
Three things, per Higgsfield's blog and changelog: a Certificate of Completion, "shareable to LinkedIn", the Foundation achievement on your Higgsfield profile, and a "Creator Drop". Higgsfield doesn't explain what a Creator Drop contains. The rewards "belong to the starter course" and "don't carry over automatically to the other tutorials."
The certificate is Higgsfield's own completion badge for a 1 hour 42 minute course, not an accredited qualification. Treat it as proof you finished, not as a credential a client will check.
What else is in the Academy catalog?
Sixteen shorter tutorials, each marked "Start now for free" on the catalog page, sorted into Movie making, UGC & Social Content, and Automate & Agents. Only the beginner course says "Earn a certificate." A few examples from the 27 October catalog:

Many lean on Claude and Higgsfield's MCP connector. The Academy page also links free videos on Higgsfield's YouTube channel, which it calls "extras, not the course."
Is Higgsfield Academy worth it, compared with free guides?
Yes for the free part. A beginner who has just subscribed loses nothing by watching the first lessons, and the lesson 3 product ad is a sensible first project. The Academy teaches you to make things, step by step, on video, inside the product.
What it doesn't do is explain the business side neutrally. It's Higgsfield's own school, so it won't tell you when a cheaper model will do or when Unlimited doesn't apply. Our free written guides answer those questions:
Use both: Higgsfield's lessons for the clicks, our pages for the cost and the model choice.
What we couldn't verify
Teaching quality. We didn't take the course or watch the lessons.
Credits needed for the homework. Higgsfield says it depends on the model and settings; no total is published.
Homework after lesson 3. The blog lists the tasks for lessons 1 to 3 only.
Course length. The landing page says 90 minutes; the course page, FAQ and blog say 1 hour 42 minutes.
What a Creator Drop is. It is listed as a reward but not described on any page we read.
Who teaches. The landing page says "Learn from top AI filmmakers"; the course page names only "Higgsfield Studio".
The X posts. We saw Higgsfield's 16 and 17 October posts only as truncated previews, so we quote only the opening line of the first.
Whether the free plan can watch. The FAQ says all lessons are free to watch, but doesn't say whether you need any account or plan to open them.
Our verdict
Watch the free lessons if you're new to Higgsfield and learn better from video than from text. Do the homework only if you already pay for a plan, because the required lesson 3 ad uses your credits, and lesson 4 stays locked until you submit it.
Skip it if you are already making videos on Higgsfield; the beginner course aims below you, and the shorter tutorials are the better pick. Don't buy a plan just for the certificate; it is a completion badge, not a qualification.
Watching is free, and the course page lists the price as free. The required homework, which unlocks lessons 4 to 7, needs an active Higgsfield subscription and uses credits.
How long is the Higgsfield Academy course?
AI Creation First Steps runs 1 hour 42 minutes across an introduction and seven lessons, per the course page, blog and changelog. The Academy landing page says 90 minutes.
Do I get a certificate from Higgsfield Academy?
Yes, for AI Creation First Steps. Finishing all lessons and required homework earns a Certificate of Completion you can share on LinkedIn, the Foundation achievement and a Creator Drop.
Is the homework graded?
No. Higgsfield says homework isn't graded; submissions only unlock later lessons. Generations must be from the last three days, and each can be submitted once.
Do I need experience for Higgsfield Academy?
No. Higgsfield says the course starts with the basics and walks you through each step, and each lesson tells you which model and settings to use.
What else is in Higgsfield Academy besides the beginner course?
Sixteen shorter free tutorials, on 27 October 2026, covering filmmaking, ads, faceless channels, games built through MCP and ad agencies. Only the beginner course gives a certificate.
