Wan 3.0 is the cheap pick: 9 credits for a 5-second 720p clip on Higgsfield against Seedance 2.5's 35. Seedance buys deeper references, an extend button and a free daily route in the US. Spec by spec, price by vendor, plus MiniMax H3 and Wan 3.0 Prime.

Wan 3.0 vs Seedance 2.5, checked November 8, 2026: pick Wan 3.0 when price per clip decides, and Seedance 2.5 when you need many references or a longer, extended shot. On Higgsfield, which runs both, a 5-second 720p clip cost 9 credits on Wan 3.0 (November 3, 2026) and 35 on Seedance 2.5 (November 7), so Wan is about a quarter of the price. Both make clips of up to 30 seconds with sound at up to 1080p, and neither model can be downloaded. Seedance takes up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips as references and can extend a clip; Alibaba lists reference images, video and audio for Wan without a count. Specs and prices re-checked on the makers' and Higgsfield's own pages on November 8, 2026.
Which is cheaper, Wan 3.0 or Seedance 2.5?
Wan 3.0, on every route that publishes a price. One 5-second clip at 720p, from the cheapest to the dearest route we could price:
One 5-second 720p clip: Wan 3.0 vs Seedance 2.5, by route (Nov 2026)
Wan 3.0, Higgsfield Ultra billed yearly (9 credits)about $0.30
$99 a month for 3,000 credits
Wan 3.0, Higgsfield Plus monthly (9 credits)about $0.44
$59 for 1,200 credits
Wan 3.0, Alibaba Model Studio API (list)$0.50 ($0.35 with a limited-time discount)
Credit prices are what Higgsfield's Generate button showed, read signed out with nothing generated: Wan 3.0 on November 3, Seedance 2.5 on November 7. Dollar figures are our arithmetic and assume you spend every credit on the plan. Alibaba's API rates are $0.10 a second at 720p for wan3.0-video and $0.14 for Wan 3.0 Prime, read November 3. ByteDance's own API, BytePlus ModelArk, charged $1.156 for the same Seedance clip, but BytePlus says it isn't available in the United States, so we left it off the chart.
The gap widens at 1080p. On Higgsfield, Wan 3.0 was 18 credits and Seedance 2.5 80 for 5 seconds, and at 480p it was 5 against 15. Wan's 9, 5 and 18 were shown as discounts from a listed 13, 7 and 28, and Higgsfield doesn't say when those discounts end. Seedance 2.5 isn't on Higgsfield's $19 Starter plan; its card lists Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini instead.

How do Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 compare, spec by spec?
They match on length, sound and top resolution; they differ on references, extending, price and who sells them. MiniMax H3 is in the third column because most people weighing these two also look at it.

Sources and dates: Wan's length, resolution, audio and inputs from Alibaba's Model Studio guide (last updated November 2, read November 8); Seedance's length and references from ByteDance Seed's model page and launch post (read November 7); MiniMax H3 from MiniMax's API docs (read November 8). Aspect ratios are Higgsfield's lists, read November 8; ByteDance doesn't list Seedance 2.5's ratios on the pages we read, and Alibaba only says "adaptive". MiniMax's 768p price is $0.08 a second times five, our arithmetic.

Can you use Wan 3.0 or Seedance 2.5 for free?
A little of each, and neither free route makes a usable ad. Here's what each maker offers at $0:
Wan 3.0: Alibaba's Wan site, create.wan.video, has a $0 plan with "Daily check-in to earn free credits", one video at a time. It doesn't say how many credits a check-in gives. Watermark-free downloads, 1080p and 10 to 30 second videos are on the paid plans. Alibaba's Model Studio API adds a one-off 30-second wan3.0-video quota, in Singapore only, and none for Wan 3.0 Prime. Our is Wan 3 free check has the screenshots.
Seedance 2.5: Dreamina, the AI creation app from ByteDance's CapCut, says free US accounts get 120 credits a day. At 37 credits a second for Seedance 2.5 at 720p, that's about 3 seconds a day. Dreamina's own pages disagree on whether free credits cover 2.5 at all: its free-credits page says free covers "Seedance 2.0 for video". Free downloads carry a Dreamina watermark, and its terms bar commercial use on the free tier. The full breakdown is in is Seedance free.
On Higgsfield: neither is free. Its help center says the free tier includes no credits, though new accounts may get some, and every free generation carries a Higgsfield watermark.

Can you run Wan 3.0 or Seedance 2.5 on your own GPU?
No. Alibaba's Wan-AI page on Hugging Face lists Wan 2.1, Wan 2.2 and Wan-Dancer but no Wan 3.0 (checked November 7), and its Wan-Video GitHub has no Wan 3.0 repository. ByteDance sells Seedance 2.5 through Dreamina, the BytePlus API and platforms like Higgsfield, and none of the pages we read offers a download.
The open choice in this family is Wan 2.2, released under Apache 2.0 in July 2025. Its 5B model makes 720p video at 24 fps, and Alibaba's README says it needs "at least 24GB VRAM (e.g, RTX 4090 GPU)" for its sample commands; ComfyUI's docs say it fits on 8 GB with offloading. Our best open-source AI video generator guide has the GPU math, and renting a GPU for ComfyUI covers the setup.
Can US buyers use Wan 3.0, Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3?
Yes through Higgsfield, with a few holes in the makers' own routes:
Seedance: BytePlus, ByteDance's API, says it "is not available in the United States". Dreamina does serve US accounts: its free-credits page names the US allowance. On Higgsfield, Seedance 2.5 works for US accounts, but its changelog says Seedance 2.5 Draft Mode is available in "all regions except the US", and its site shows "Seedance 2.0 Mini is not available in US".
Wan: Alibaba's free API quota is Singapore-only. We didn't find a US block on create.wan.video or on Higgsfield's Wan 3.0, but we didn't sign up from a US account to prove it.
MiniMax H3: the hosted model runs on MiniMax's API, its Hailuo app and Higgsfield. The downloadable weights are a different story, covered below.
What's the difference between Wan 3.0 and Wan 3.0 Prime?
Price and speed, as far as Alibaba says. Its Model Studio guide describes Prime as the version that speeds up generation while keeping quality high, and its tables list the same features for both: text-to-video, first and last frame, all-in-one references, audio, 2 to 30 seconds and up to 1080p. Prime costs about 40% more:

API rates read November 3, 2026 on Alibaba's pricing page; Higgsfield credits from its Generate button the same day. We haven't run either, so we can't tell you whether Prime looks different. If speed isn't your problem, the plain Wan 3.0 is the better buy on paper.
Wan 3.0 vs MiniMax H3: where does H3 fit?
H3 is the 2K option with shorter takes. MiniMax's launch post says it generates "with native stereo sound, up to 15 seconds at 2K resolution", and its API docs add first and last frames and up to 9 reference images. On Higgsfield a 5-second H3 clip at 2K was 10 credits on November 3 (20 listed), close to Wan 3.0's 720p price. On MiniMax's own API, H3 costs $0.13 a second at 2K, or $0.65 for 5 seconds.
Its catch for US buyers is the download. MiniMax published H3's weights on Hugging Face, but the licence lists the United States among its Excluded Territories.
The MiniMax H3 licence file on Hugging Face, read November 3, 2026. Outline ours. · Screenshot of huggingface.co by aliteq
A US company can't use those weights under that licence, so for a US reader H3 is a hosted model like the other two. Hailuo, MiniMax's own app, includes H3 at 4 to 15 seconds on its free plan, whose welcome credits expire after three days; see is Hailuo AI free.
Have we tested Wan 3.0 or Seedance 2.5 ourselves?
Seedance 2.5, yes; Wan 3.0, no. On November 3, 2026 we gave Seedance 2.5 one product photo and a vertical ad brief five times on Higgsfield at 35 credits a try; 3 of the 5 clips kept the product right, about 58 credits per usable clip (the full test). On November 7 we ran one text-to-video try on Seedance 2.5 and Kling 4.0 with the same prompt: Seedance's clip came back at 720x1280, 24 fps, with stereo sound, after about six minutes, and the small logo we asked for was barely readable at 720p (Kling vs Seedance shows every frame).
We have never generated a Wan 3.0 clip, so nothing here says which one looks better. Higgsfield's own model guide and the makers' pages are the only quality claims on offer, and they're marketing.
Which should you pick?
Lots of short clips on a budget: Wan 3.0. At 9 credits per 5 seconds on Higgsfield, or $0.50 on Alibaba's API, you can afford the retries every model needs.
Product ads built from references: Seedance 2.5. It takes the most reference material of the three, and it's the one we've seen keep a product right from a photo, 3 times in 5.
One long scene: either reaches 30 seconds; Seedance can then extend the clip, and it accepts audio clips as references. Our long AI video guide compares every model past 15 seconds.
2K delivery: MiniMax H3, up to 15 seconds.
Run it yourself: none of the three for a US business. Wan 2.2 is the open model.
If something breaks on Seedance (a blocked logo, a stuck job), Seedance not working has the fixes.
What we couldn't verify
Quality. We never ran Wan 3.0 or MiniMax H3, so we can't compare their output with Seedance 2.5's.
Wan's credits per clip on its own site. create.wan.video doesn't publish what a Wan 3.0 clip costs in credits, or how many credits a daily check-in gives.
US access to Alibaba's API. The free quota is Singapore-only; we didn't confirm whether a US account can buy Model Studio's Wan 3.0.
Seedance 2.5's aspect ratios and resolution on ByteDance's pages. ByteDance doesn't state them; the lists above are Higgsfield's.
Whether Dreamina's free credits run Seedance 2.5. Dreamina's two pages disagree.
When Higgsfield's discounts end. Wan 3.0's 9 credits and H3's 10 are shown against higher listed prices.
What separates Wan 3.0 Prime from Wan 3.0 beyond speed. Alibaba's tables list the same features for both.
7/ 10
Verdict
Wan for price, Seedance for references
Wan 3.0 is the better buy for most people: same 30-second length, sound and 1080p ceiling as Seedance 2.5, for about a quarter of the credits on Higgsfield. Pay Seedance's premium when the clip depends on references (a real product, a character, a soundtrack) or needs extending, and look at MiniMax H3 only if you need 2K. Whichever you pick, price your exact settings on the Generate button first.
Best for: Anyone choosing between Wan 3.0, Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3 for paid video work
Frequently asked
Is Wan 3.0 better than Seedance 2.5?
It's cheaper, not proven better. On Higgsfield a 5-second 720p clip cost 9 credits on Wan 3.0 (Nov 3, 2026) and 35 on Seedance 2.5 (Nov 7). Both reach 30 seconds with sound at up to 1080p. Seedance takes more references and can extend a clip. We've tested Seedance 2.5, not Wan 3.0, so we can't rank their output.
Which is cheaper, Wan or Seedance?
Wan 3.0, on every route with a published price: about $0.30 to $0.44 for 5 seconds at 720p on Higgsfield and $0.50 on Alibaba's API, against about $1.16 to $1.72 for Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield and $1.76 on Dreamina's Basic plan (our arithmetic from Nov 3 and Nov 7 prices).
Is Wan 3.0 open source like Wan 2.2?
No. Alibaba's Hugging Face and GitHub pages stop at Wan 2.2 (checked Nov 7, 2026). Wan 2.2 is the open, Apache 2.0 model you can run on your own GPU.
What is Wan 3.0 Prime?
A faster, dearer version of Wan 3.0. Alibaba says Prime speeds up generation while keeping quality high, and lists the same features for both. It costs $0.14 a second at 720p on Alibaba's API against $0.10, and 15 credits against 9 for 5 seconds at 720p on Higgsfield.
How does MiniMax H3 compare with Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5?
Shorter but sharper: up to 15 seconds at 2K with native stereo sound, against 30 seconds at 1080p for the other two. It cost 10 credits for 5 seconds at 2K on Higgsfield (Nov 3, 2026). Its open weights exist, but the licence excludes the United States.
Can I use Seedance 2.5 in the US?
Yes, through Dreamina or Higgsfield. ByteDance's BytePlus API isn't available in the US, and Higgsfield's Seedance 2.5 Draft Mode and Seedance 2.0 Mini aren't offered to US accounts.
The short version: both models make 30-second clips with sound, Wan 3.0 costs about a quarter as much per clip, and Seedance 2.5 earns its price only when you feed it references or need to extend a shot.
