Two same-brief tests on Higgsfield, with frames from every clip: Kling 4.0 kept our logo readable for about a third of Seedance 2.5's price, and Seedance 2.5 beat Kling 3.0 at turning a product photo into a new vertical ad. Here's which to use for each job, and what a clip really costs.

Kling or Seedance? Pick Kling for price and, in our test, a readable logo; pick Seedance 2.5 to turn a product photo into a new scene, where it beat Kling 3.0. On Higgsfield, which runs both, a 5-second 720p clip cost 11.25 credits on Kling 4.0 and 35 on Seedance 2.5 on November 7, 2026, so Seedance costs three to five times as much per second. We ran both models on the same ad briefs twice, and frames from every clip are below. Higgsfield's catalogue (read Nov 7, 2026) also carries Kling 2.6, 3.0, 3.0 Turbo, 4.0 Flash and the 3.0 Omni and Motion Control tools, and Seedance 1.5 Pro, 2.0 and 2.0 Mini. This page sets the two flagships against each other, with Kling 3.0 where our first test used it and Seedance 2.0 where 4K comes up. What does a Kling or Seedance clip really cost?
On Higgsfield, every Kling setting we priced costs less per second than Seedance 2.5 at 720p, even Kling 3.0 in 4K. One trap when you check: Higgsfield's Kling 4.0 settings default to 10 seconds at 1080p (32.5 credits on Nov 3), so set 5 s and 720p to see the 11.25 we paid; Seedance 2.5 defaults to 5 s at 720p (Higgsfield's model settings, read Nov 7, 2026). Here is one second of video at each setting:

In dollars, on Plus billed monthly ($59 for 1,200 credits, about $0.049 a credit), a 5-second clip works out to about $0.55 on Kling 4.0 and $1.72 on Seedance 2.5 at 720p, or about $0.80 and $3.93 at 1080p. That's our arithmetic, and it assumes you use every credit; Higgsfield credits explained shows what a credit costs on each plan and when credits expire.
Two things move these numbers. Kling 4.0 has been on a launch discount since October 21, and Higgsfield's changelog gives no end date, so its prices may rise: on Nov 7 the Generate button still listed 40 credits per 10 seconds at 1080p and 13.75 per 5 seconds at 720p, struck through next to the prices it charged. Even at those list prices Kling 4.0 costs well under half as much per second as Seedance 2.5 (our arithmetic). And Higgsfield's plans sometimes add short Unlimited windows on Kling 3.0 or Seedance 2.5 (never on Kling 4.0, in any plan data we've read since its launch); they change week to week, so check the plan cards before you count on one.
Test 1 (Nov 3): one product photo, five tries on each
On November 3 we gave Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 the same photo of a plain knit beanie and the same store-ad brief: a vertical shot on a light-grey studio surface, the camera circling, then a hand lifting the hat, with the product kept identical. Five tries each, 5 seconds at 720p, through Higgsfield. The full method, every failure and the dollar maths are in our cost-per-usable-clip test; here is what it says about choosing between the two models.
Kling 3.0: 1 of 5 usable (2 if you trim the last second), at 7.5 credits a try. It ignored the new background and the vertical format, and three of its failures looked fine until the last second, when the hat stretched, turned grey or twisted as the hand lifted it.
Seedance 2.5: 3 of 5 usable, at 35 credits a try. It built the grey studio in vertical, as asked. Its two failures changed the product: one added a folded cuff, one collapsed the hat.
Credits per usable 5-second clip in our Nov 3 product test (720p, five tries each)
Kling 3.0 (1 usable of 5)37.5 credits
7.5 credits a try, 37.5 spent in all
Seedance 2.5 (3 usable of 5)58.3 credits
35 credits a try, 175 spent in all
Kling 3.0, five tries of the same brief, Nov 3, 2026. Frames at 0, 1.25, 2.5, 3.75 and 5 seconds. Every try kept the photo's wooden table and landscape shape. · Aliteq test, made with Kling 3.0 on Higgsfield
Seedance 2.5, five tries of the same brief, Nov 3, 2026. Tries 1, 2 and 5 kept the product; try 3 added a cuff, try 4 collapsed the hat. · Aliteq test, made with Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield
Why Kling 3.0 ignored the brief matters more than its score. It took the photo as its start frame, so the first frame was our photo, with its wooden table, flash lighting and landscape shape; Seedance took the same photo as a reference and built a new scene around the product. On Higgsfield, plain Kling 3.0 accepts a photo only as a start or end frame (its Omni versions take references), while Kling 4.0 has a reference-to-video mode. We haven't run this brief on Kling 4.0, so the result above is Kling 3.0's.
Cost still favored Kling: even at 1 usable clip in 5, Kling 3.0 made the cheapest keeper, 37.5 credits against about 58 for Seedance 2.5 (Nov 3 prices). On the individual plans that include both models, that's about $1.24 to $1.84 per usable clip on Kling 3.0 against $1.93 to $2.87 on Seedance 2.5, from Ultra billed yearly to Plus monthly (our arithmetic; Seedance 2.5 isn't on Starter). At 11.25 credits a try (its text-to-video price on Nov 7; we haven't priced its reference mode), Kling 4.0 would roughly tie Seedance's 58 credits per keeper even at Kling 3.0's 1-in-5 hit rate (five tries at the Nov 7 price come to 56.25 credits, our arithmetic), and every extra usable clip in five would put it well ahead. That's a projection, not a test result.
Test 2 (Nov 7): one prompt, one try on each
The first test used Kling 3.0, so on November 7 we set Kling 4.0 against Seedance 2.5 directly: one text prompt, no photo, identical settings (text-to-video, 5 seconds, 720p, 9:16) on Higgsfield, one try each, nothing edited. The prompt asks for the things a product ad lives or dies on: a setting, a small logo that must read, soft light, a hand and steam.
The exact prompt we gave both models (Nov 7, 2026)
Text-to-video, 5 s, 720p, 9:16
Vertical product ad. A matte black ceramic coffee mug with a small white logo that reads BREW sits on a light oak café counter. A woman's hand slides the mug toward the camera and lets go; steam rises from the coffee. Morning sunlight from a window on the left, soft shadows. Slow push-in camera. Photorealistic, shallow depth of field.
Kling 4.0 (top, 11.25 credits) and Seedance 2.5 (bottom, 35 credits): one try each with the same prompt and settings (text-to-video, 5 s, 720p, 9:16) on Higgsfield, Nov 7, 2026. Five evenly spaced frames from each clip, unedited. · Aliteq test, made with Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield
Same prompt, one try each, unedited, Nov 7, 2026: the 2.5-second frame of each 720p clip, cropped around the logo and enlarged 2x at the same scale. Cut from our clips; nothing was generated for this image. · Frames from our own Higgsfield test clips

Kling 4.0 read the scene closer to the brief: an oak counter in a café with tables behind, soft window light, and a BREW logo clear in every frame, though bigger than the "small" one we asked for. Seedance 2.5 read the logo line more literally and lost it: small, as asked, but barely readable at 720p, in a plain room under hard stripes of sun. Both slid the mug forward and let go without warping it.
Both files came back at 720×1280 and 24 frames a second, each with a stereo sound track the prompt didn't ask for. Speed, from one run only: we submitted Seedance first, yet Kling 4.0 finished first, in about three minutes, while Seedance was still running at four and a half and finished after about six. Queues change by the hour, so treat that as one data point.
One detail may explain part of the logo gap. By our reading of both files, Seedance's clip carried about 1.4 Mbps of video against Kling's 5.2 Mbps, and small text is usually the first thing heavy compression blurs. We generated through Higgsfield's own connector, where Seedance 2.5's bitrate defaults to "standard". Higgsfield's web panel showed it set to "High" when we checked on Nov 7 (the screenshot further up), and per Higgsfield's changelog (Jun 19, 2026) high bitrate gives "higher video quality at the same credit cost". We didn't run it, so on a small-logo shot, check that setting before you generate.
The verdict from one try each: for an ad where the brand has to read, Kling 4.0's clip is the usable one, at about a third of the credits. That fits Kling's own claim for Kling 4.0, "clear and stable generation of multilingual text, emojis, and logos" (Kling 4.0 guide, dated Nov 4, 2026); ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 page makes no claim about text. But one try is an anecdote: a second run could swap the light or the steam, so the price gap is the firmer finding.

Use
Seedance 2.5
Why
Both stop at 30 s in one take; of the two, only Seedance extends a clip on Higgsfield. Kling's 2-minute extension is marked coming soon.
Cheap drafts before the final
Use
Kling 3.0 or Kling 4.0 Flash; Seedance at 480p
Why
Seedance 2.5 at 480p is 15 credits per 5 s. Higgsfield's changelog says its Draft Mode isn't offered in the US.
A silent clip for your own soundtrack
Use
Kling 3.0 with sound off, or Seedance 2.5 with audio off
Why
Kling 3.0 drops to 7.5 credits per 5 s at 720p with sound off (10 with it). Seedance 2.5's audio switch doesn't change its price, per Higgsfield's help center. Kling 4.0 has no audio switch on Higgsfield: write "no background music" into the prompt, as Kling's guide advises, and mute the rest in your editor.
Sound you supply
Use
Seedance 2.5 for audio references; Kling 4.0 on kling.ai for a voice
Why
Both make sound with the clip. Seedance takes up to 10 audio clips as references, per ByteDance; Kling 4.0 takes a voice reference on kling.ai, but its Higgsfield settings take no audio input (read Nov 7).
A person talking to camera (UGC-style)
Use
Higgsfield's Lipsync Studio, per its help center
Why
We haven't tested dialogue. Higgsfield's lipsync article says making a character talk "lives in Lipsync Studio", and points to native audio, made with the video, "when you want perfect physical alignment from the start" (read Nov 7, 2026). Kling's guide lists Kling 4.0 speech in nine languages.
4K delivery
Use
Kling 3.0 on Higgsfield
Why
Kling 3.0 in 4K costs 30 credits per 5 s with sound on Higgsfield (Nov 3), against about 110 for Seedance 2.0 in 4K on Plus and up (Higgsfield's cost check, Oct 26). Kling 4.0 stops at 1080p on Higgsfield; Kling's guide lists 4K for it on kling.ai, but its overview marks "4K/1080p Resolution with 10-bit HDR output" as coming soon. Seedance 2.5 generates at up to 1080p, and Higgsfield's Aug 6, 2026 launch note for it mentions upscaling to 4K as a separate step.

Seedance 2.5
Kling 4.0 offers 21:9, 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and auto.
On drafts: Higgsfield added Kling 4.0 Flash on November 4, "A lighter version of Kling 4.0 for quick tests and frequent short videos", at 3 to 20 seconds and 720p, priced "lower per generation than Kling 4.0". Seedance 2.5's Draft Mode renders a 480p preview, then a 1080p final with the same prompt, references and seed, and Higgsfield's settings give you seven days to finalize a draft. But Higgsfield's changelog says Draft Mode is available in "all regions except the US, where the provider doesn't offer the model."
Higgsfield's own one-line split is "Seedance handles realistic motion and Kling handles longer or multi-shot clips." For Veo 3.1, Hailuo, Wan and the other video models it hosts, see which Higgsfield model to use for each job. If neither Kling nor Seedance fits your brief or your budget, our Kling AI alternatives, matched to the reason you're leaving price each option per clip and say when staying on Kling is the better call.

Our method from the Nov 3 and Nov 7 tests, judged on five evenly spaced frames per clip. Credit costs as Higgsfield charged them on Nov 7, 2026.
Where can you use Kling and Seedance officially?
Kling lives on kling.ai and in Kling's own phone apps. Kling's Credits Policy prices credits at "$1 USD = 66 Credits" (read Nov 7, 2026), and our guide to Kling's plans and what one clip costs on kling.ai turns that into a price per clip. If Kling would be most of your work, buying it direct is usually cheaper per clip than a multi-model plan; we price both routes in Kling direct or Kling on Higgsfield.
Seedance is described, not generated, on ByteDance Seed's own site. Its Seedance 2.5 page sends you to Dola or the BytePlus playground to make clips (read Nov 7, 2026), and BytePlus's own Seedance 2.5 announcement notes that "BytePlus is not available in the United States". In the US, ByteDance's consumer app for Seedance is Dreamina, from CapCut; its free credits and per-second rates are in is Seedance free.
Both in one account: Higgsfield hosts both. Plus is its cheapest plan with both flagships, since the Starter card lists only "selected models" and Higgsfield's help center says Seedance 2.5 isn't on Starter (Starter card read Oct 26 and 27, help center re-read Nov 7, 2026); the plan cards are compared in Higgsfield plans compared. Higgsfield isn't the only reseller: on Nov 3, 2026 Pika and Runway also sold Kling 4.0 and Seedance, and our best AI video generators for brands and agencies prices the same model across platforms.
What happens when a Kling or Seedance clip fails?
In most cases you get the credits back, whichever model failed: Kling's Credits Policy refunds failed generations, and Higgsfield's help center says failed jobs are refunded automatically, usually within a few minutes (both read Nov 7, 2026). Where to check the refund, and what to do about a job that hangs or a "too busy" message, is in the refund rules and fixes for a stuck or failed Kling job; for Seedance's own causes, including the separate IP check Higgsfield can't override, see Seedance not working.
What matters for choosing between the two is each model's record, and both have had bad days on Higgsfield. Its changelog, which lists the incidents Higgsfield chose to post, logged resolved Kling failures on Jul 9, Jul 22, Aug 21 and Nov 2, 2026, and Seedance failures or delays on Sep 1, Sep 10, Sep 30, Oct 1 and Oct 3 (read Nov 7, 2026). Every one of those entries except Sep 30 says "Credits for failed generations were refunded automatically". Neither record is clean, and a handful of posted incidents is too few to rank the two models on reliability.
What we couldn't verify
How long Kling 4.0's discount lasts. Higgsfield's changelog says only that a launch discount applies "for a limited time, as of October 21, 2026". On Nov 7 the button still showed both discounts: 32.5 credits for 10 seconds at 1080p (40 listed) and 11.25 for 5 seconds at 720p (13.75 listed).
Kling 4.0's price on kling.ai. The pages we read don't publish it; Kling shows the cost in the app before you generate.
Draft Mode for US accounts. Higgsfield's changelog excludes the US, but its Seedance 2.5 settings still listed a draft option on Nov 7. We couldn't confirm what a US account sees.
Kling 4.0 in 4K and HDR on kling.ai. The guide's spec table lists 4K and 10-bit HDR, but its overview says "Supports 4K/1080p Resolution with 10-bit HDR output (coming soon)". We didn't generate on kling.ai.
Whether Dola serves US accounts. ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 page links to it, but we found no official statement of the countries Dola is available in.
Seedance 2.5's resolution and launch date on ByteDance's model page. Neither is stated there; the launch post is dated July 31, 2026.
Kling 4.0 Flash's price. Higgsfield says only that it's lower per generation than Kling 4.0.
Whether high bitrate fixes Seedance's small logo. We used standard, the default in the connector we generated with, and didn't run high, which Higgsfield's web panel showed on Nov 7.
How far our results generalize. Five tries per model on one product, then one try per model on one prompt. No people, fast action or long clips, and no Kling 4.0 run on the product-photo brief.
Verdict
Kling for price and legible logos; Seedance for rebuilt scenes
Make Kling your default: on Higgsfield it costs a third to a fifth as much per second as Seedance 2.5, Kling 4.0 kept our café setting and a readable logo, and its 4K is cheaper: Kling 3.0 in 4K on Higgsfield costs about a quarter of Seedance 2.0's 4K price. Pay Seedance's premium when a product photo has to become a new scene or a vertical ad (it beat Kling 3.0 there; we haven't tried Kling 4.0's reference mode on that brief), when realistic people are the job, or when you need extensions or 4:3 and 3:4 frames. Our samples are small, so run both once on your own product before you pick a plan.

Frequently asked
Which is better, Kling or Seedance?
Neither wins every job. On Higgsfield on Nov 7, 2026, Kling 4.0 cost 11.25 credits for 5 seconds at 720p against 35 for Seedance 2.5 and kept a readable logo in our same-prompt test, and Kling 3.0 makes 4K on Higgsfield for about a quarter of Seedance 2.0's 4K price. Seedance 2.5 beat Kling 3.0 at turning a product photo into a new vertical scene in our five-try test (3 usable clips of 5 against 1), and Higgsfield recommends Seedance when realism is the priority.
Is Seedance more expensive than Kling?
Yes, on Higgsfield, which sells both. A 5-second clip cost 35 credits on Seedance 2.5 at 720p against 11.25 on Kling 4.0 (Nov 7, 2026), and 80 at 1080p against about 16 for Kling 4.0 (our arithmetic from its discounted 10-second price, the same on Nov 3 and Nov 7). That's three to five times as much per second, by our arithmetic. Per usable clip the gap was smaller in our product test: about 58 credits on Seedance 2.5 against 37.5 on Kling 3.0.
Which is better for product videos and Shopify ads, Kling or Seedance?
It depends on what you start from. From a text prompt, Kling 4.0 did better in our one try each on Nov 7, 2026: it kept the café setting and made the BREW logo readable, for 11.25 credits against Seedance 2.5's 35. From a product photo, Seedance 2.5 did better than Kling 3.0 on Nov 3: it kept the product right in 3 tries of 5 against 1, and it also built the new grey background and vertical format that Kling 3.0 ignored. Check the last second of every clip: three of our six failed clips broke there.
Which makes longer videos, Kling or Seedance?
Both make up to 30 seconds in one generation on Higgsfield: Kling 4.0 from 3 to 30 seconds and Seedance 2.5 from 4 to 30 (read Nov 7, 2026). Seedance 2.5 can also extend a clip forward or backward on Higgsfield; ByteDance's model page says a clip can be extended twice, and its launch post describes extending to several minutes. Kling's guide lists extension "up to 2 minutes" as coming soon, and Kling 3.0 stops at 15 seconds (Higgsfield's settings, read Nov 7).
Can Kling or Seedance make 4K video?
Kling can, and so can Seedance 2.0. Kling's guide for Kling 4.0 (dated Nov 4, 2026) lists 720p, 1080p and 4K on kling.ai, though its overview marks "4K/1080p Resolution with 10-bit HDR output" as coming soon. On Higgsfield, Kling 4.0 stops at 1080p, and 4K comes from Kling 3.0, at 30 credits for 5 seconds with sound (Nov 3), or from Seedance 2.0 on Plus and up, at about 110 credits (Higgsfield's cost check, Oct 26, 2026). Seedance 2.5 generates at up to 1080p on Higgsfield; Higgsfield's Aug 6, 2026 launch note for it mentions upscaling up to 4K, a separate step. BytePlus announced a Seedance 2.5 4K version for enterprise on Oct 27, 2026, and BytePlus isn't available in the US.
Do Kling and Seedance generate sound?
Yes, both. Kling's guide lists stereo, 2-channel audio for Kling 4.0, generated with the video, and says the model may add background music unless you exclude it. Seedance 2.5 generates audio by default on Higgsfield, and ByteDance says it accepts up to 10 audio clips as references. Both of our Nov 7, 2026 test clips came back with a stereo sound track, although the prompt didn't ask for one.
Can I use Kling and Seedance on one plan?
Yes, on Higgsfield, which hosts both. Its Starter card lists only selected models, and Higgsfield's help center says Seedance 2.5 isn't on Starter (plan cards read Oct 26 and 27, help center re-read Nov 7, 2026), so Plus ($59 a month, or $47 a month billed yearly, with 1,200 credits; prices checked Nov 3, 2026) is the cheapest plan with both flagships. Kling's own plans on kling.ai cover Kling only.
Can I use Kling or Seedance clips in paid ads or client work?
Yes, and use a paid plan for anything you publish. Higgsfield's Terms of Use (s.4.4, updated Oct 23, 2026) say it doesn't claim ownership of your outputs or restrict commercial use on any plan, and you can transfer the rights to a client; its paid plans are the ones with watermark-free downloads, and the other catches are in what Higgsfield's Terms say about client work and paid ads. On kling.ai, Kling says content from its free Basic plan is "not for commercial use", and Dreamina's free Seedance credits come with a watermark and terms that limit commercial use. On Higgsfield you also carry the legal risk if a clip infringes someone's rights, so keep logos and brand names you don't own out of the prompt (terms and plans read Nov 3, 2026).
